چکیده
Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) include imipramine, desipramine, amitriptyline, nortriptyline, doxepin, trimipramine, protriptyline, and clomipramine 1) . Among these, imipramine was first synthesized in 1948. However, it was not until 1958 that its antidepressant affects in humans were recognized. Since then, it has been the prototype TCA. Imipramine is used for the treatment of non-bipolar depression 2) , nocturnal enuresis in children, in whom an organic pathology has been excluded 3) , anxiety disorders, and neuropathic pain 4) . The TCAs, including imipramine, may cause fatal toxicity in children with an initial adult dose of 25-100 mg (one or two pills) once a day 5) . Herein, we describe a patient that

A case of Brugada Syndrome unmasked by a postoperative febrile state
Abstract Background: Brugada Syndrome (BS) is an inherited ion channelopathy characterized by an electrocardiographic (ECG) pattern of a coved type ST segment elevation in right precordial leads with or without right bundle branch block. Case Presentation: A 23-year old male presented with right lower quadrant abdominal pain. Further evaluation revealed a diagnosis of acute appendicitis. The ...
متن کاملElectrocardiographic manifestation of digoxin toxicity in a Pomeranian dog
This case report describes several electrocardiographic findings in an 8-years old female Pomeranian dog that was referred with a history of digoxin overdose. Electrocardiographic abnormalities detected in this case could be classified as primary electrocardiographic disturbances, reflecting cardiac chamber enlargement and secondary ECG changes, attributed to digoxin toxicity. ECG manifestatio...
متن کاملFever-induced type 1 Brugada pattern.
Brugada syndrome, first described over 20 years ago, is characterized by a typical electrocardiographic pattern with coved-type ST-segment elevation in the right precordial leads and a high risk of sudden death in otherwise healthy young adults. The electrocardiographic pattern is sometimes intermittent, and fever is a possible trigger. The authors present the case of a 68-year-old woman who ca...
متن کاملType 1 electrocardiographic Brugada pattern in a woman with Chagas disease: a case report.
A 56-year-old woman with well-documented Chagas disease was found to have a spontaneous type 1 electrocardiographic (ECG) pattern of Brugada syndrome. It is most likely that this characteristic ST-segment elevation is an unusual manifestation of the pathological changes in Chagas disease. This ECG pattern has been found with other cardiac pathology and has been reported to be induced in patient...
متن کاملBrugada-type Electrocardiographic Pattern Induced by Fever
ST-segment elevation in Brugada syndrome is caused by a shift in the ionic current balance and the creation of a voltage gradient between the epicardium and the endocardium. This ionic mechanism have been shown to be temperature dependent. We describe a 33-year-old man who presented with fever with the dynamic electrocardiographic changes similar to the Brugada syndrome. These electrocardiograp...
